The objective of the Hong Kong Challenge Cup is to promote dance culture, and to provide a platform for practice and experience sharing for young dancers and professionals. This year we introduce competition event based on the fundamental aspect of ballet “Alignment · Turns · Leaps & Coda”. Proper alignment is the foundation for all ballet technique. Turning is one of the key components of dance and is an exciting technique that dancers like to pursue. Leaps involve traveling and movement across all dimensions of the stage.

Similar to previous years, HKCCDC 2022 offers competitions in two separate Divisions for contestants from all around the world, and for contestants from the Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong. An additional competition “Alignment۰Turns۰Leaps (ATL) & Coda” will be held after the International Division of ballet in the On-stage Competition in July 2022 at Youth Square. The HKCCDC ATL & Coda competition Competing by recorded video will be held in August 2022. Throughout the past two years, we have all become used to dance in the digital space and our new event (ATL) gives you an opportunity to compete and get feedback with your fundamental classwork of ballet without leaving your home town.
